A social game about cooking, created by the Polish studio Yellow Dot. In Let's Cook Together 2 we can prepare dishes from different corners of the world, playing alone or in local coop on a shared screen. The game features a story about an evil corporation trying to rid people of taste, as well as a level editor.
Let's Cook Together 2 is the second installment of the social arcade cooking game series that started in 2020. The sequel was developed by the independent Polish studio Yellow Dot, which, in addition to the first part of the series, also has the game Them Bombs, inspired by the best-selling Keep Talking and Nobody Explodes, in its portfolio.
Story
Let's Cook Together 2 takes us to the future. The world is ruled by the mega-corporation Nutri, which has taken the Zero Waste principle to absurdity, forcing people to eat tasteless mush made from everything that is edible and suitable for processing. Although the majority of society has become stupefied, apathetic, and devoid of ambition because of this, some people attain the so-called "Taste Awakening" and join the Resistance Movement led by General Ohm, aimed at fighting the system.
When the rebels manage to construct a device that allows them to learn the rules from the old world, the game rules change dramatically, and their fight begins to have a chance of success. At this point, we step into action, embodying the characters of chefs delving into the secrets of preparing delicious food.
Gameplay
In Let's Cook Together 2 we watch the action from a bird's eye view. During the game we bustle around the kitchen and take care of cooking, which requires us to prepare ingredients and use various kitchen tools and appliances. Given that fun often resembles a race against time, we must demonstrate agility, reflexes, and divided attention.
However, when we play in cooperation mode, success also depends on our ability to cooperate and coordinate actions with others. The individual stages (of which there are over 250) continuously adapt to the number of players, while the difficulty level is determined based on both the size of the team and the level of advancement of its individual members.
The game provides us with characters equipped with unique skills. As we progress, we can also improve our kitchen equipment, which over time increases our culinary potential. As for the dishes being prepared - among the available dishes, we will find both classics of Polish cuisine, led by hunter's stew, dumplings and potato dumplings, as well as Japanese specialties (sushi, gyoza, udon) and Italian flavors (pizza, lasagna, bruschetta). The cookbook implemented in the game contains dozens of recipes.
Coop and other game modes
Let's Cook Together 2 was primarily designed for multiplayer fun on a shared screen. The game allows us to both cooperate and compete with the other participants. Moreover, there is nothing to prevent us from playing alone or making use of integration with Twitch service (viewers can influence the streamer's gameplay). The icing on the cake is the level editor, which allows us to create our own maps and share them with the community.
Graphics
The two-dimensional graphics of Let's Cook Together 2 are maintained in a cartoon style.
