Plot
In a torn by war land of Legrand, a slave by the name of Finn is forced to fight on the arena, and during such duel, he reveals unusual power he cannot entirely control. This draws the attention of a rich man who decides to buy Finn and free him. They both embark on a journey to save the rich man's daughter. Finn has no idea that this journey is only the beginning of his adventure on which he might become the hope for his kin and even the entire world.
Mechanics
Legrand Legacy: Tale of the Fatebounds for PC, SWITCH and etc. is a jRPG heavily inspired by the genre's classics such as Final Fantasy VII, Grandia, and Xenogears. Developed by SemiSoft, the game combines the exploration of the 2D environment composed of pre-rendered backgrounds with 3D turn-based battles, during which players control several characters and have to skillfully utilize their abilities (such as attacks and spells).
The game includes several additional elements such as minigames (e.g. fencing and fishing), and the strategy system allowing players to command an army and engage in large-scale battles. At some point, you get the opportunity to develop Durnville Castle and use new services provided by e.g. vendors and blacksmiths.
Technical aspects
Legrand Legacy: Tale of the Fatebounds for PC, SWITCH and etc. features an unusual art direction. Locations resemble oil paintings, and the colors are more neutral than in similar games, making each vivid color appearing on the screen immediately catches players' eyes. The 3D character models have been designed to feature rich details.
