Legions of Steel Description
Legions of Steel is a science-fiction turn-based strategy game and a virtual adaptation of a board game of the same name. The game was released for PC Windows and popular mobile devices (iOS/Android), and it was created by French studio Nyx and experienced producer Slitherine.
Plot
The game is set in the far future, in which rebellious robots, united under the banner of the Empire of Machines, are a threat not only humanity, but also to alien races from outer space. Faced with the danger, the League of Aliens and the United Nations of Earth join forces to fight the mechanical enemy. Although the battles take place all over the universe, the main front is an underground tunnels network, where the enemy's conveyor belts, building new machines, are located. This is where you are sent to save the universe.
Mechanics
In Legions of Steel you can choose from two playable factions in two independent story campaigns consisting of 15 missions, available in the singleplayer mode and the multiplayer mode. Each of the sides of the conflict has different units, which in turn have unique characteristics, weapons, and combat abilities. The gameplay is turn-based and was designed with both seasoned players and newbies in mind.
The game uses a top-down perspective, which gives it an oldschool feel. The visuals of Legions of Steel on PC, AND and iOS are based on the original board game with additional 3D models, a range of animations, and a user-friendly interface. You can play the game on your own or with a fellow player in the hotseat or asynchronous PBEM++ mode.
