Left Behind 4: World at War is another part of a strategic cycle based on the Christian series of books by Dr Tim LaHaye and Jerry B. Jenkins, who has been at the forefront of the New York Times bestsellers for years. In this part of the game, based on the prophecies of the Biblical Book of Revelation, we stand for the final battle between good and evil.
The action World at War largely refers to Craig R. Baxley's film shot in 2005, known in Poland under the title Written on Losses. It touches on the themes described in the second part of the book cycle entitled The Devil's Treatise. We are following a globalisation that is progressing rapidly with the new UN Secretary-General, Nicolae Carpathii, who turns out to be the Antichrist. Humanity, pushed underground, organises an opposition partisan party under the leadership of the President of the United States. Worldwide conflict and the fight against inexorable time begins.
In the fourth part of the game, more than 50 new missions, divided into two campaigns, were made available to players. The events presented in the scenarios take place on the faithfully reproduced streets of New York, and the game can be played from the level of the commander of the Compression Forces, the Global Peace Forces Community, or the American militia. What is characteristic of the series, the skirmishes take place at both physical and spiritual level and, in accordance with Christian ideology, with minimal use of force.
The game's graphics and interface, as well as the soundtrack by Chance Thomas, have remained virtually unchanged. Improvements introduced to the game are only cosmetic, which makes the fourth part of the cycle is basically a package of additional missions, addressed mainly to the fans of the series. In addition to the single player campaign, World at War offers the possibility of multiplayer fun in one of the three available modes. We can play in two LANs, and with a maximum of 7 people over the Internet.
