An official expansion pack for Left 4 Dead 2 - a cooperation-oriented FPS game created by Valve Software and released at the end of 2009. In The Passing, the players assume the roles of four characters from the original Left 4 Dead: Bill, Francis, Louis and Zoey.

The Passing is the first official expansion pack for Left 4 Dead 2, created by Valve Software. Again, the player faces hordes of undead monsters here.

Plot & Mechanics

In Left 4 Dead 2: The Passing for PC and X360, the players assume the roles of four main characters from the original Left 4 Dead, that is, Bill, Francis, Louis and Zoey. The characters from the first installment meet those from Left 4 Dead 2 in a small, agricultural town in Georgia. The missions included in The Passing expansion are set in-between of the events from the chapters "Dead Center" (the first campaign in Left 4 Dead 2) and "Dark Carnival" (the second campaign).

Left 4 Dead 2: The Passing can be enjoyed in several different modes. Apart from both the opportunities to complete the new missions solo or with other players, The Passing introduces new arenas for the Survival, Versus and Scavenge modes. Furthermore, completely new challenges were created for the co-op mode.

In Left 4 Dead 2: The Passing for PC and X360, the player can make use of two previously unavailable items - a firearm and a melee weapon. Also, one new zombie type was added.
