A 3D fighting game in the vein of Power Stone that is a debut project of the French studio Piranaking. Lastfight is based on a popular comic LASTMAN. In contrast to classic beat‘em ups in which the characters move on two-dimensional stages, Lastfight introduces small 3D arenas. This way, the player can try to get their opponent from behind, or use the elements of the environment – for example, hitting an enemy with an armchair.
Lastfight is a 3D fighting game resembling Power Stone.The game was created by French studio Piranaking, for which this is the first game. The title is based on the popular comic book LASTMAN.
Mechanics
This is not a classic fighting game, in which we move only to the right and left, jumping and craoching. Instead, players can move in three dimensions across a small arena, trying to get their opponent from behind or use elements of the environment, e.g. an armchair that can be lifted and used to attack the enemy. The combat system is purely arcade and requires memorizing the moveset, which varies depending on the selected hero (ten characters are available in total).
Game modes
The game takes place in three main modes - a story campaign, which consists simply in taking part in subsequent skirmishes, and 1v1 and 2v2 battles. In addition, there are several additional options, including Free for All, where everyone fights against everyone, Endless, where we have to survive as long as possible on a single health bar, and Pinball, which consists of attacking with balls.
Technical aspects
Lastfight was created in a small studio with a very limited budget, so the technical side of the project is not its strongest element. The game looks just good, and various flaws are masked by the cartoonish style.
