Kraken Academy!!

Kraken Academy!!! is an adventure game filled with black humor. The game was developed by an independent German studio Happy Broccoli Games and published by Fellow Traveller.

Plot

The action of Kraken Academy! takes place in the title school (quite unusual, but a school nonetheless). We take on the role of a student who gets involved with a magical kraken and falls into a kind of time loop. Our task is to discover the identity of the hidden traitor and prevent the inevitable destruction of the world. Along the way we experience numerous unusual adventures.

Game mechanics

In Kraken Academy!! we observe the action from a top-down view. To make our investigation successful, we have to get to know each of the teachers and all the other students as well as possible. We are talking about various personalities struggling with various problems. For example, Vladimir can't get rid of female fans who are crazy about him, Simona hates everyone and Broccoli Girl can't forget about her ex. The more we know about them, and the more we know their daily routines, the closer we are to solving the mystery and saving the world.

Things are complicated by the fact that the school offers a number of side activities, which make our stay there more attractive and allow us to make new friends, but at the same time they cost us precious time. It is worth remembering, however, that although we have only three days to prevent the apocalypse, we are stuck in a time loop, so nothing stands in the way of trying out different attractions after each restart.

And there is something to do later on, because the academy has four clubs - music, art, sports and drama - and each of them offers us different activities. Within the first one we can join a rock band, within the structures of the second one we can create our own works of art and present them at the school exhibition, the third one enables us to take part in sports competitions, while the fourth one offers us an opportunity to become a famous (at least among students) actor. Besides, we can take part in a costume party or play detective and in cooperation with the janitor deal with a dangerous syndicate.

Graphics of the game Kraken Academy! is made up of both hand-drawn elements and content created in pixel art technique.
