Knights of Light PC

Knights of Light is an action role-playing game by indie Egyptian studio Rumbling Games. It is their first production and it was inspired by games by CD Projekt RED and Ninja Theory.

Plot

Knights of Light is set in e early 17th century, in Iran, during the rule of the Sassanid dynasty and the Arab invasion led by Saladin. In 637 the Iranian army was defeated in the battle of al-Qadisiyyah, which not only gave the invaders the upper hand, but also had an effect on the spreading of Islam in the area. You play as a member of one of the warrior tribes, and participate in those events, encountering many historical figures; each of them is shown as a person with their own convictions, and the game doesn't feature a clear distinction between good and evil characters.

The game also features fantasy elements, inspired by the local legends, although they are a part of secondary missions, during which you play as a different character.

Mechanics

Knights of Light utilizes a third person's perspective. The game features a large open world, filled with both cities, villages, forests, deserts, and mountains. Apart from exploring, you also complete main and side quests (your choices affect the story) and fight enemies. As a reward, you earn experience points, and gathering enough of them allows you to level up. In dynamic battles, you use various melee weapons and bows. Each weapon has an assigned skill tree; when you develop your skills, you also gain access to more combo attacks.

Technical aspects

The game features well-made 3D visuals and utilizes the Unreal Engine 4. Especially worth noting are richly detailed weapons and the environment.
