A party party game and spin-off of the popular platform game series. In Kirby's Dream Buffet, two to four players are tasked with navigating obstacle courses and collecting the food they encounter along the way in preparation for confronting their fellow players.
Kirby's Dream Buffet is a social party game released digitally by Nintendo, exclusive to the Nintendo Switch console. It is a spin-off of the popular Kirby series. In the game, two to four players are tasked with navigating obstacle courses, collecting as much food as possible along the way and then beating their fellow players in a final round.
Game mechanics
Kirby's Dream Buffet is a social game with simple rules. Each player takes on the role of Kirby of a different color, facing an elaborate obstacle course. The players' task is to roll down the track while avoiding dangers. Strawberries are scattered around the boards, collecting of which increases our Kirby. Each game consists of four rounds and four different boards. The last and decisive round is the final, during which players face each other on an arena-like platform. The bigger we are, the more advantage we have during the final confrontation.
The game also features skills known from the other parts of the series, which we can gain while traversing the track. Among other things, Kirby can turn into a spinning cupcake that attracts distant strawberries or generate shockwaves that repel opponents.
Game modes
Kirby's Dream Buffet was designed for multiplayer gameplay. Local and online gameplay for two to four players is allowed.
Technical aspects
Audiovisual setting of Kirby's Dream Buffet is nice, clear and colorful. The game boards where the gameplay takes place are covered with cakes, fruits and various sweets. We can listen to cheerful and catchy music, including remixes of songs known from the main parts of the series.
