Brushes with Death is the first of three story expansions planned by the Warhorse Studios team even before the release of the basic version of Kingdom Come: Deliverance II.

At the time the expansion was revealed, all that was known about it was that Henry (the main character) would come to the aid of a mysterious artist "with a hazy past," while facing "dangerous enemies" and untangling a web of intrigue.
