Katie's Farm

Katie's Farm is a simple educational game for preschool children. Together with a little girl named Katie, her sister and parents, the player will visit an American farm and get to know the animals living there and the use of some everyday objects.

The game is very easy to use and comes down to choosing the right window at the bottom of the screen (it can be done with both the mouse and the keyboard). Some pictures lead us to new locations (e.g. a barn, a house on the door), while others run an animation in which children discover the secrets of the farm. The program has no deeper purpose than exploration. All the fun comes down to watching what a typical American farm offers.

At Katie's Farm, it is worth mentioning the excellent visual setting and decent animations. From time to time we will also hear spoken samples, which are played with the help of the PC Speaker. Despite the extensive subject matter, the programme is not very long and, in fact, is closed in a few basic locations, which certainly reduces its educational value.
