Kalimba

Kalimba is a logical and arcade platform game, in which we control two parts of a magic totem simultaneously by means of one controller. The title was prepared by a team from Press Play, a Danish studio known for its colourful platformers Max & The Magic Marker and Max: The Curse of Brotherhood. The game was originally created as a "after hours" side project of two studio employees, but its potential and originality of the idea meant that it was decided to develop it into a fully-fledged production.

The game takes place on a horizontally divided screen and consists in bringing to the target two different colored fragments of a broken magical totem. To do this, we will have to solve a number of logical puzzles and overcome dozens of obstacles blocking our way. The main difficulty, however, will be the fact that both parts are magically connected to each other and perform exactly the same movements. And since their paths are quite different from each other, a safe manoeuvre for one of them can be fatal for the other. The essence of the game is to control the situation in both parts of the board and to manoeuvre the totems in such a way as not to destroy any of them.

Kalimba allows you to play in single player mode or in local cooperation, where the key to victory is the close cooperation of both players. The game's graphic design created on the Unity engine has been prepared in a classic two-dimensional style. However, the authors took care of a smooth animation, displayed at 60 frames per second in 1080p resolution.
