A twin-stick shooter with roguelike elements. In Juicy Realm, the players assume the roles of scientists exploring the kingdom of intelligent and very dangerous plants. One can do it alone or in a company through a local co-op mode.
Juicy Realm is an arcade shooter developed by Chinese SpaceCan Games as their debut project. The game was published by X.D. Network Inc., known for releasing an acclaimed beat'em up a game called ICEY.
Plot
The action of Juicy Realm is set in a newly discovered area of Earth. Humans have discovered a realm of plants inhabited by intelligent, mobile and highly dangerous flowers, fruit, and vegetables. The player assumes the role of one of the scientists dispatched to research the enemy threatening entire human race, and survive this confrontation.
Mechanics
Juicy Realm is a shooter, in which the players observe the action from the top-down perspective. Gameplay mechanics are relatively simple – the game is based on the twin-stick shooter formula. Developers have also added some roguelike elements to their production – thus players traverse randomly generated locations filled with treasures and monsters, never knowing what to expect, except one thing – the enemies always outnumber you, so death is a regular thing. Luckily, on their adventures, players acquire new pieces of gear and weapons that facilitate their efforts, as well as resources to expand the base holding e.g. the store.
Game modes
Juicy Realm features high replayability ratio, thus players can enjoy the game for many hours. Another incentive to prolong the time spent with this game is the local co-op mode.
Technical aspects
The game delivers simple, yet very pleasant visuals. Developers have implemented a rather cartoonish style which well contrasts with the demanding and quite brutal gameplay.

Worth Playing: 6.5 / 10 by Cody Medellin
Juicy Realm has the presentation nailed down, but everything else is merely serviceable. The shooting is fine, and the guns can be wacky, but the roguelike elements are lacking, dampening any reason to replay the game once you beat it. The short length doesn't help things, either, and while co-op is a nice touch, it doesn't extend the game's longevity. It's a fun title while it lasts, but don't be surprised if you quickly forget about it.
viewport: 6 / 10 by Albert Corsten
While the gameplay resonates with what roguelike players love and desire, Juicy Realm doesn't do enough to set itself apart from the competition. Still, Juicy Realm is a sweet change of pace from more hardcore roguelikes that warrants a playthrough for those looking for a more casual experience.
GameSpace: 5.5 / 10 by Mitchell Gassner
The whole time I was playing I felt the PC was the wrong platform for the game. While I don't see myself coming back over and over to play the game at home, it would be a fun game to have on a mobile device. My PC gaming time is spent on more substantial games, but the short levels of Juicy Realm could be played while out and about.
