Joe & Mac: Caveman Ninja is a remake of the action platform game, released in 1991 for PC, Super Nintendo Entertainment System console and arcade machines, and later converted to other platforms. It was developed by Mr. Nutz Studio team (authors of such projects as Toki or Asterix & Obelix: Slap Them All!) and published by Microids.
Plot
Joe & Mac: Caveman Ninja tells the story of the two cavemen. When girls from their tribe are kidnapped by evil Neanderthals, the protagonists have no choice but to grab a weapon and set out on a rescue mission.
Mechanics
Joe & Mac: Caveman Ninja is a side-scroller. We wander through various levels and face the challenges that await us. We have to jump on platforms (for example, not to fall into the lava stream) and we have to face opponents. During their journey Joe and Mac have to fight against hostile Neanderthals, mammoths and dinosaurs. During the fight the heroes use not only their own fists and clubs, but also boomerangs and stones.
Preparing the described remake, the developers have taken care of its audiovisual layer and developed new content. Among other things, there were created stages unavailable in the original.
Game modes
Joe & Mac: Caveman Ninja can be played solo or in local co-op mode.
Technical aspects
Compared to the original, Joe & Mac: Caveman Ninja stands out because of its thoroughly revamped graphics in a cartoon style, which does not unravel its pixelart roots.
