A Polish 2D action platformer with elements of a metroidvania. Janosik 2 allows us to play both as the titular outlaw, as well as his friends - vampire Hugo and werewolf Bogdan. The heroes embark on a rescue mission, using their individual skills and engaging in combat.

Janosik 2 is the second installment of the series of action platforming games with metroidvania elements, launched in 2020. The sequel was developed by the author of the original, namely an independent Polish developer using the pseudonym Onix.

Plot

Janosik 2 is a continuation of the events presented in the first part of the series. After rescuing his companions, the titular Goral outlaw did not enjoy peace for long, as his beloved, Janka, was kidnapped by the sinister Baron de Blonde. The protagonist has no choice but to embark on the next dangerous journey, in which he will be accompanied by loyal allies - the werewolf Bogdan and the vampire Hugo.

The story is conveyed through dialogues and cutscenes, and which of its endings we will see depends on the decisions made by us during the adventure.

Gameplay

In Janosik 2 we watch the action from the side. During the game we can freely switch between characters who explore vast and diverse levels, jumping on platforms, avoiding traps and obstacles, as well as fighting opponents. We need to demonstrate dexterity and reflexes in the game. Although the gameplay is characterized by a fairly high level of difficulty, it is somewhat mitigated by densely distributed checkpoints.

The game world is full of wild dogs and headless skeletons, with which Janosik and his companions fight using melee weapons and various combat skills. It's worth remembering that each character has been endowed with unique abilities, useful both on the battlefield and during exploration.

For example, vampire Hugo can slowly descend from great heights, which allows him to more easily avoid dangers, while the werewolf Bogdan can move certain objects and destroy elements of the environment using a club.
