Jane's Longbow 2 Description
Jane's Longbow 2 is a continuation of the 1996 simulation hit Jane's AH-64D Longbow. Not only does it have a completely refreshed graphical engine, but it also gives us the ability to pilot not only the AH-64D Longbow, but also two other helicopters, i.e. UH-60L Black Hawk and OH-58D Kiowa Warrior.
As for the realism of the game itself, it not only maintains the high level set by its predecessor, but also raises it significantly. The physical model of the flight itself has been improved (different for each helicopter), the range of available weaponry has been extended and the artificial intelligence of enemies has been significantly improved. The diligence with which the creators recreated the entire avionics of helicopters is also worthy of recognition.
The whole game consists of several dozen missions taking place during major campaigns, including the Desert Storm and a hypothetical war with Russia. In doing so, we will have to deal with a range of hostile equipment: SAM rocket launchers, anti-aircraft guns, enemy helicopters and fighters, and other types of troops.
The game has multiplayer gameplay options with the ability to play up to four people on the local network and two via the Internet, and its exceptional quality is evidenced by the "Flight Sim of the Year" award awarded in 1997.
