Ixion Saga is a game set in the reality of fantasy, focused only on playing online. The production was created especially for Japanese customers and is enriched, among other things, with a series of anime of the same title. Capcom is responsible for the development of the game, which decided to prepare only the PC version. This is an unprecedented move by a developer who usually prefers console productions.
The action of Ixion Saga takes place in the land known as Mira, which brings to mind many worlds appearing in novels representing the fantasy genre. Mira is filled with Alma, a mysterious energy of extraordinary power. Players fight here not only among themselves, but also against enemies controlled by artificial intelligence. Getting to know other monster species and fighting them is the real quintessence of the game in this title.
Two teams of eight players stand together to fight against each other. Each participant can create their own hero by selecting one of the three available types: Striker - uses a sword in combat, Caster - prefers magic, Blaster - uses firearms. The skirmishes are fought in real time, both near and far away. Due to the implemented character of the game, players must show appropriate manual skills and reflexes. Direct clashes between users of the game are diversified by battles with giant monsters, reminiscent of those found in the extremely popular Monster Hunter series.
Graphic design already at the time of game release turned out to be quite outdated, presenting itself as several years old productions with considerable technical shortcomings. The creators decided to treat the visuals relatively sparingly in order to improve the stability of the servers. During the game we hear a lot of shouts of characters arranged in a typical Japanese style.
