Island Flight Simulator combines elements of a simple flight and economy simulation games. It was developed by Caipirinha Games. The game takes us to a tropical area, where we assume the role of a small transport plane pilot. The gameplay boils down to transporting various goods, including those commonly considered illegal, between twelve exotic islands.

Island Flight Simulator for PS4, SWITCH and PC is a simulation game that combines elements of a simple flight simulation with an extensive economic aspect. It was developed by the German studio Caipirinha Games, the creators of such productions as Bridge Builder 2 and Mountain Rescue Simulator.

Mechanics

In the game, we assume the role of small transport aircraft pilot, and our task is to transport various kinds of goods between 12 exotic islands. Each one has its own airport which also serves as a hub where we accept missions. In total, the game offers over a hundred varied transport jobs, from very simple to incredibly difficult and risky. Naturally, there are also those very lucrative ones that involve transporting illegal wares. In such a case, the price for handsomely remunerated work is the additional risk of getting caught by law enforcers.

Between missions, we can park our plane on one of three main airports where we can refuel, repair, and modify our machine in our own hangar. The game features three airplanes with different parameters. Moreover, each one can be further enhanced to improve its speed, durability, and range. The used flight model is far from fully realistic, but in this way the developers made a kind of a compromise that lets both lovers of flight simulation and casual gamers enjoy the game equally.

Technical aspects

Visually, Island Flight Simulator for PS4, SWITCH and PC is what is considered average in its genre. Both the landscape and building models aren’t too detailed, but the lively colors and the tropical atmosphere make the game’s graphics enjoyable.
