An exploration/adventure horror by the independent studio Sigma Games from Poland. The main hero of Inner Voices is John Blake who is trapped in a dimension resembling purgatory. The protagonist suffers from amnesia and the only way to reveal his mysterious past is to follow a strange voice. The hints it drops lead the hero to eerie places which reflect his own memories distorted by an unknown, evil force.

Plot

The main hero of Inner Voices is John Blake – a man trapped inside a dark dimension similar to purgatory. The protagonist suffers from amnesia and the only way to reveal his mysterious past is to follow a strange voice. The hints it gives lead him to unnerving places which distortedly mirror his memories influenced by an unknown, evil force.

The story is non-linear and the way it ends depends on the player’s choices made during playthrough. The title draws inspiration from the works of such authors as H.P. Lovecraft, Edgar Allan Poe, and Stephen King.

Mechanics

Inner Voices released on PC features the first-person perspective. During gameplay, you visit a number of locations and solve logic puzzles of different difficulty levels. This is how you unravel elements of the plot and learn more and more about the hero’s past and the reason for his memory loss.

What is noteworthy, the title introduces some roguelike elements. The game’s world is, to some extent, generated randomly – particular locations are picked from the pool of 50 places.

Technical aspects

Inner Voices utilises 3D, amazing visuals powered by Unreal Engine 4. The game’s original soundtrack successfully builds up the stifling and thrilling atmosphere.
