An adventure game realized in the convention of a criminal drama, created almost entirely from the FMV sequence with the participation of live actors. Playing the role of the San Francisco District Prosecutor, we are leading the case of an outdated artist accused of murdering his business partner. The evidence gathered is then presented at a court hearing, which, depending on our actions, may end in one of four ways.

In the 1st Degree is a first-person adventure game made in the convention of a criminal drama. It uses FMV technology and video sequences recorded with live actors. The title was developed by Peter Adair and Haney Armstrong and was published by Broderbund Software.

Plot

In In the 1st Degree, we play the role of the San Francisco district prosecutor named Sterling Granger. He leads the case of James Tobin, a bold San Francisco artist accused of committing the first-degree murder and seizing the property of his business partner, with whom he ran a lucrative art gallery in the city center.
