Impossible Mission is a graphically refreshed version of the game, which debuted on Commodore-64. Our task is to stop the evil professor Elvin Atombender. In order to do so, we have to search the enemy base and within 6 hours find 36 pieces of code, which deactivates the whole destructive program created by the scientist. The mechanics of the game combines elements of the platformer with adventure elements.
Impossible Mission Description
Impossible Mission, developed by System 3 studio, is a remake of an adventure game released in the mid-eighties of the last century.
We play as a selected agent code-named Alpha, Delta or Gamma. The heroes must stop the demonic professor Elvin Atombender, who is trying to conquer the world. The task is to search the headquarters of the hostile scientist and find 36 pieces of code within 6 hours, which deactivates the whole destructive program created by the professor.
The gameplay has not changed for over twenty years. The aim of players is still to beat randomly generated rooms and search for password elements. Robots controlled by a scientist stand in the way of agents. The search is also made difficult by the numerous enemies and the fast elapsing time, which additionally decreases by 10 minutes after each mistake. The characters cannot attack and are therefore dependent on their dexterity and cleverness.
The creators have prepared three game modes, which differ mainly in terms of audiovisual setting. The "Classic" module takes players back in the past, presenting the action exactly as it was on Commodore 64. In the other two modes, graphics have been upgraded to today's standards, mainly thanks to better character animation, light and shadow effects, and refined backgrounds.
