Elvin Atombender, a crazy scientist who once tried to put the plan to take control of the world into practice, attacks again. This time he set himself the goal of a nuclear arsenal belonging to the United States. The virus designed by him paralysed the country's defence system and programmed rockets carrying nuclear warheads for several purposes, which are the largest cities in the world. Considering that Elvin dreams of a nuclear holocaust alone, there is not a moment to lose. The special agent who was sent to the madman's fortress has exactly eight hours to disarm the missiles using special codes. The problem is that it can only be done in a tower controlled by Elvin. And to reach it is not that easy at all.

Impossible Mission 2 is a platformer, which is a continuation of the famous hit from 1984. Although the original was released on several hardware platforms (including Apple II), the game eventually did not hit the PeCet screens. Only four years later, Epyx thought about the owners of these machines and presented them with the second installment of the series.

On the way to the goal, our hero will have to perform several smaller tasks. First of all, you need to get the three-digit codes that open the passages to the next towers. Secondly, it is necessary to locate and open the Elvin safes, in which six notes are hidden, creating a specific melody together. Recording them on a miniature tape recorder and later playback is the only way to get to the express elevator leading to the criminal's headquarters. The last task is to find the right terminal for disarming nuclear missiles. We have exactly eight hours to complete all the activities. If the time limit is exceeded, the world will be completely destroyed.

The towers on which we are going to move consist of corridors, lifts and specific rooms. The latter include computers and other equipment that will help us to collect the necessary data at a later stage. However, nothing is so simple. There are robots controlled by the Elvin virus, and you have to skillfully jump on the platforms located here and there. Admittedly, death does not rule out the performance of the mission (unlimited number of "live"), but frequent repetitions are only a waste of precious time.

Impossible Mission 2 is a game that should appeal to all fans of platformers. The task set for us by the program is much more complex than in other games of this type, which is why a great deal of patience and a bit of logical thinking is required. The audio-visual setting does not knock down, but it also does not present itself completely tragically. All in all, it's a pretty good product and it's nice that at least one part of it has finally found its way to PeCety.
