An RPG survival game with a pirate theme. IfSunSets allows us to discover secrets of an old civilization. We gather resources and explore during the day, and we defend against hordes of creatures during the night. The game offers singleplayer and online coop.

IfSunSets is a combination of an RPG and a survival game, in which the day and night cycle plays a key role. The development was handled by the Korean studio Polymorph.

Plot

As a result of encountering a kraken, we land on the shore of an abandoned island. Luminora was once a prosperous civilization, but due to the excessive ambition of its inhabitants, it was shrouded in darkness. The goal of IfSunSets is to escape from this mysterious place, which will not be possible without unraveling the secrets of its ancient past.

Gameplay

We start the adventure by creating a character. The gameplay of IfSunSets is divided into two stages, corresponding to the time of day. When the sun shines, we explore a vast island and collect resources needed to build a base that will be able to protect us from the night horde. We also create weapons, and develop our character. We can engage in activities such as farming, fishing, and diving, and there is also horse riding.

As dusk approaches we become vulnerable to attacks by fast-moving beasts. We set traps and obstacles and use various construction features to create a safe haven. During the night we try to survive the swarm of monsters chasing us. In addition to enemies, we are also threatened by hunger and thirst.
