If On A Winter's Night, Four Travelers is a point & click horror adventure game available for free. Game, whose title is a reference to the novel If On A Winter's Night, A Traveller by Italo Calvino, was developed by an independent studio Dead Idle Games.

Plot

The story presented in If On A Winter's Night, Four Travelers addresses difficult topics such as racism, homophobia, mental illness, murder and suicide. The game takes us on a journey to 1920 and tells the story of four characters who find themselves at a masked party held aboard a train. In The Silent Room, we learn the story of Carlo, who is about to meet his lover in a Turin hotel room. The Slow Vanishing of Lady Winterbourne is about the laudanum-addicted lady who, after the death of her husband, can't keep away from admirers. The protagonist of The Nameless Ritual is Dr. Jordan Samuels, who has decided to put an end to the taunts of his tormentors and use occult science to make fate finally smile on him. Finally, If On a Winter's Night lets us know the fate of Laylah, who, in order to break from her routine, must defy her boss.

Mechanics

In If On A Winter's Night, Four Travelers the action was shown in isometric view. The gameplay keeps to the genre pattern. During the game we wander through small locations, have conversations and gradually get to know the elements of the storyline puzzle. From time to time we also solve clever puzzles that require us to find specific items.

Technical aspects
