A multiplayer action game inspired by the Dead by Daylight game that is available on PC and consoles. During the game, four players are acting as victims trying to escape a dark mansion while the fifth player assumes the role of a murderer that is trying to stop them.
Identity V is a multiplayer action game with horror traits. It was developed by NetEase in cooperation with Behaviour Interactive (the creators of Dead by Daylight, a game that is available on PC and consoles). The game was developed for mobile devices.
Plot
The main protagonist of Identity V is a detective that is attempting to solve the mystery of the vanishing of a girl. While searching for the missing girl, the protagonist enters an abandoned mansion. While traveling through its rooms, he collects pieces of information about the events that occurred here in the past. The players can see these events with their own eyes by assuming the role of one of a few killers or by becoming one of the victims that are trying to run away.
Mechanics
In Identify V, the action is presented from a third-person perspective. An asymmetric multiplayer mode is the pillar of the game. Up to five players are participating in the matches. One of the players assumes the role of the killer while the other players are playing as the victims. The victims are trying to discover the passwords that will enable them to escape from the mansion. The murderers are trying to stop them.
Among the available hunters, there is a former owner of a factory, a circus clown, an artist that looks like the legendary Slenderman, and a terrifying guardian of the forest. Among the victims, there is a gardener, a lawyer, a nurse, a thief, and a soldier. No matter which side the player is on, he or she can use the unique skills of specific characters. These skills improve the chances for survival of each victim, but they also make it easier for the killers to hunt.
Technical aspects
The three-dimensional graphics of Identity V are using the style similar to the works of Tim Burton. The game features grim colors that, together with a climatic soundtrack, are building a horror atmosphere. The game is distributed by using a free-to-play distribution model with microtransactions.
