Refreshed edition of the classic PS2 hit with high resolution graphics and 3D gameplay. We play the role of a boy named Ico, who, marked with a mysterious curse, is imprisoned in a mysterious castle. He meets Princess Yorda, who is imprisoned there, and together they start a dangerous fight to get out of the trap.
For PlayStation 3 owners, the refreshed edition of the classic PS2 hit, which together with its spiritual continuation - Shadow of the Colossus - makes one of the most original and highest-rated series in the history of video games. Ico was originally released in September 2001 as the work of the two-person Japanese development team Team Ico.
In the game we play a boy named Ico, who, marked with a mysterious curse, is born with bizarre horns on his head. According to the ancient tradition of the village, a cruel fate awaits him - because he is to be captured by several riders and imprisoned in an ominous and dangerous fortress, where he will inevitably die. Left to the mercy of fate, Ico notices a girl imprisoned in a cage, using a language unknown to him. It turns out that Yorda is a princess, the daughter of the cruel queen reigning in the castle. Our hero decides to help the girl. Together they start the fight to survive and get out of the trap.
Ico is a third-player adventure game with strong arcade elements. Our goal is to help the two friendly heroes to escape from the fortress, where they are waiting for them a lot of fancy traps and ruthless demons. What constitutes an unquestionable distinguishing feature of the game is the strong emotional connection between Ico and Yord, deepening with the development of the action. Our protoplasta will take care of the princess, defending her from monsters or saving her from falling into the abyss. Playing Ico we can feel what loneliness is and what responsibility for the fate of another person means.
The remastered after 10 years version of the game has high resolution graphics, emphasizing the beautiful graphic design of the original. The creators have implemented the possibility of switching on stereoscopic 3D graphics, the advantages of which can be appreciated by owners of 3D TVs. Also not forgotten is the large set of PlayStation Network trophies to unlock. Ico HD was distributed both independently in digital form and on a blu-ray disc with a refreshed edition of Shadow of the Colossus.
