The plot of ICEY follows the titular heroine, led by the mysterious narrator, during her travels through a fictional, enemy-ridden world. ICEY for PC, SWITCH and etc. is a two dimensional beat’em-up game developed for PC, SWITCH and etc.. The game was created by Shanghai FantaBlade Network Technology, a Chinese company which isn’t well-known outside of Asia, but the said title may change that.

Plot

The game tells the story of ICEY, a female warrior that traverses a fictional world full of enemies while being led by a mysterious narrator. He shows us the way, and points us to next enemies. Truth be told, we don’t know why we are listening to him, and we aren’t sure of his intentions. As a result, we can decide to skip one of his requests, and use a different path, which angers the narrator, but allows the players to discover various secrets hidden in further locations.

Mechanics

Aside from the narrator, ICEY for PC, SWITCH and etc. is a fully-fledged beat’em’up game, with complex combo system and RPG elements. The players have to learn to use the heroine’s abilities – not only powerful attacks, but also skillful dodges and sideslips. All these skills are very useful in battle, especially against large, powerful, and durable bosses. The developers decided to introduce a medium difficulty level, making the gameplay (which is not that easy) able to bring a lot of fun even for players that haven’t experienced any games of similar genre.

ICEY for PC, SWITCH and etc. is characterized not only by the presence of the narrator and a fun-oriented gameplay, but also spectacular and atmospheric visuals that will get the attention of even the biggest opponents of 2D graphics.
