Ice Lakes Description
Ice Lakes, available on PC, AND and iOS, is an ice fishing simulator with sandbox elements. The game was developed by an independent studio called Iceflake Studios. Besides Ice Lakes, they have also developed Race Online, Premium Pool Arena or Target Horizon available on mobile devices.
Mechanics
As befits a simulation game, Ice Lakes tries to reproduce as faithfully as possible the charm of winter fishing, taking into account the specificity of individual fisheries, types of equipment and the habits and behavior of different fish species. Players can play on 17 open maps located in various parts of the world. During a virtual fishing trip, we use dozens of lures, rods, reels and other equipment, and the way of fishing - regardless of the control model - is characterized by quite realistic physics imitating the real movements of the rod. There are nearly 30 species of fish, each of which is characterized by a different behavior controlled by an advanced AI; its behavior can be influenced by a whole range of factors, such as the season of the year or a time of the day. There are also rich options to personalize our virtual fisher.
Game modes
Ice Lakes offers a wide range of single and multiplayer modes, from a typical sandbox to the possibility of participating in several different tournaments. However, this is reserved exclusively for PC users - those who own the mobile version of the game can only play the single player mode.
Technical aspects
Both the PC and mobile versions of Ice Lakes are characterized by similarly simplistic but clear and visually aesthetic graphics, which, for obvious reasons, looks a little better on smaller screens of smartphones and tablets. One of the additional advantages of the PC version is the support of virtual reality goggles with dedicated motion controllers, which significantly contribute to increasing the realism of the game.
