Hyper Universe Description
Hyper Universe is a 2.5D, side-scroll action title for two teams of four players. Taking what is best in MOBA games, the production combines dynamic battles with strategic elements. The production was developed by CWAVESOFT and published by Nexon.
Mechanics
Hyper Universe for PC begins with selecting your hero – titular Hyper. There’s a variety of avatars which differ in play style and abilities. Each hero has a role assigned, i.e. Tank, Bruiser, Specialist, Striker, Support, and Assassin. Before the actual game starts, you can customise your equipment. And there is a lot of it – weapons, armours, support equipment, and special items exclusive for particular heroes.
During a match, the title utilises the side-view, which brings to mind classic beat ‘em up games. In order to win, it is not enough just to defeat the enemy heroes. Just like in typical MOBA games, there are also smaller and much weaker, AI-controlled enemies pushing forward – eliminating them and destroying the opponent’s base is the key to success. The title offers a few maps which – to make things more interesting – are large both vertically and horizontally (you can switch levels with the help of ladders placed in strategic points).
Technical aspects
Even though sheer gameplay of Hyper put out on PC is two-dimensional, the game utilises spectacular, 3D visuals. In effect, the game slightly resembles games like Injustice: Gods Among Us or Street Fighter V. Character animations and models crafted by VWAVESOFT are very detailed and go well with the atmospheric arenas.
