Hybrid (2003) Description
Hybrid is a futuristic action game, maintained in the FPS convention and inspired, among others, by films from the Alien series. The 29-year-old Lieutenant Marek Hale, a member of the Navasota spacecraft crew, is placed under the control of the user. This starship was sent with the mission to investigate the mysterious phenomena occurring in the area of the mining zone MF-KL769, located on the Nereid moon (one of the satellites of the planet Neptune). During the voyage, the main character is awakened by the sounds of explosions and alarm sirens, as well as the frightening screams of his travel companions. The reason for the confusion is an unidentified vehicle, which probably belongs to the representatives of extraterrestrial civilisation. We must therefore evacuate the damaged transporter as soon as possible (activated self-destruction sequence) and try to explain the unusual situation on our own.
The developers put a lot of effort into preparing the single-player mode (the single-player game consists of three main levels, including the Navasota ship and the MF-KL769 mining complex. Each level includes a number of smaller locations), although they did not neglect the multi-player option. In addition, they used a special Mother3D "engine" in their work, which is responsible for generating an exceptionally realistic visual setting. In addition, there are well-designed Artificial Intelligence algorithms, an advanced physical model and a three-dimensional environment with a high degree of interactivity. The whole is complemented by a substantial arsenal of weapons (both standard and less conventional), as well as a constantly tense atmosphere.
