First person shooter designed for virtual reality sets. The title in an interesting way combines elements taken from Polish history and Slavic mythology with science fiction motifs. During the game, players take on the role of a combat robot confronting the so-called Simargs - an aggressive alien capable of turning the whole life on Earth into dust.
Hussarion Description
Hussarion is a shooter developed by the independent Polish team at Carbon Studio. Just like the previous works of this team, namely ALICE VR and The Wizards, the production described here was created with PC and virtual reality sets in mind. The project was financed by the Polish Ministry of Culture and National Heritage.
Story
Story of Hussars is an original mix of elements taken from Polish history and Slavic mythology with science fiction motifs. In the near future, the Earth is being invaded by the so-called Simargs, aggressive aliens capable of turning all life on the Blue Planet to dust. Players take on the role of a combat robot, whose appearance is modelled on the famous hussars, and their task is to face the invaders and neutralize the threat before it's too late.
Mechanics
In Hussarion we observe the action from FPP. The gameplay does not differ significantly from the usual formula developed by other FPS, so during the game we travel through various locations and face adversaries - the key to success is cooperation with other players. The title requires virtual reality goggles and dedicated motion controllers - with the help of the latter we aim with weapons and interact with elements of the environment.
Technical aspects
Just like the earlier works of Carbon Studio, Hussarion is powered by Unreal Engine, which enabled developers to obtain high quality graphics. The most striking element is thge detailed environment, realistic lighting and special effects accompanying the battles.
