Hoyle Swashbucklin' Slots is a proposal of the Encore Software development team addressed to fans of "one-handed bandits", who would like to see traditional slot machines and taste the "pirate" life.

During the game players can try their luck on 25 virtual slot machines. 20 of them are electronic versions of the game (so-called video slots), which are distinguished not only by a greater number of shields, but also by 20 types of award-winning combinations of symbols. The remaining 5 are simulators of traditional mechanical devices with three disks and one "payline".

The creators of Hoyle Swashbucklin' Slots took care of a great variety of motifs related to pirates and the sea. Available slot machines include Pirates vs. Ninjas 2, Cannonball Cashouts, Galleons & Gold, Rigs & Reels and others. The stake in the game are virtual coins with face values from 1 cent to 500 dollars. Players can also get more than 100 trophies and unlock 150 achievements.

Hoyle Swashbucklin' Slots' visuals are cartoon-style. The creators were tempted to create graphics combining elements 2 and 3D. Some of the solutions in the game, including the user interface, were borrowed from earlier games from the Hoyle series.
