A simulation game in which we take on the role of architects and interior designers. In Hometopia we deal with all aspects of building new houses and renovating the existing ones. The game allows you to play solo as well as in co-op mode.

Hometopia is a simulation game that allows us to take on the role of architects and interior designers. The game was developed by The Isn't Company studio, founded by a couple of professional house renovators.

Mechanics

In Hometopia we can observe the action both from the top-down view and from the first person perspective (FPP). During the game we design and build houses from scratch, as well as renovate already existing buildings.

We decide on the layout and purpose of each room (nothing prevents us from turning a large bathroom into a bedroom and vice versa), the location of doors and windows, the color and finish of the walls, the type of flooring and finally the placement of various pieces of furniture. Each piece of home equipment can be customized by choosing the material it will be made of and its color scheme. In total, more than two thousand furniture and decorative elements have been implemented here.

Game modes

Hometopia has two game modes. The first is the campaign, in which thirty houses await renovation. They are located on five different settlements - from a caravan park to an exclusive district. During the game we buy, renovate and sell more houses for profit, gradually building our reputation and thus gaining access to more and more prestigious houses. Apart from that, there is a sandbox mode where we can let our imagination run wild, disregarding economic limitations. In this case, nothing stands in the way of building both small, but also cozy single-family houses, as well as real mansions that are the object of envy of the neighbors.

The game allows you to play solo or in cooperative mode, where we create whole districts together with other players. In addition, the game supports fan modifications, and you can share your projects with the whole community.

Technical aspects

Hometopia offers a detailed graphics. Each piece of equipment has been designed with attention to detail, so if you try hard enough, your projects can look like they were taken out of an interior design catalog.
