Gameplay is based on exploration of environments, ransacking visited rooms and solving puzzles encountered along the way. Puzzles are mainly based on manipulating environments and objects – e.g. deciphering a specific fragment of a text. However, a careful observer can find a lot of hints hidden in the game’s world.
Interestingly, during daytime the player must be careful not to approach too close to windows, as the protagonist appears to be suffering from a photophobia. On the other hand, at nigh he is being hunted by nightmares, and you have to move around in such a way that yoy don’t get caught by the darkness creeping on the floor. The day and night cycle also has impact on the aforementioned puzzles – fragments of some can only be solved at night, while others exclusively during the day.
