The fifth installment of Daylight Studios' humorous series, this time in fantasy RPG convention. In Holy Potatoes! I'm A Hero?! as a beginner potato hero we fight monsters and save the inhabitants of the ruined village.
Holy Potatoes! I'm A Hero?! is the fifth installment of the humorous Holy Potatoes! series. from Daylight Studios. This time the team from Singapore takes us on a trip to a fantasy land as part of an RPG with roguelike elements and strategy.
Plot
After potato aliens, spies, etc. the Daylight Studios team took a classic fantasy scheme to the workshop. We play the role of a beginner potato hero who goes to the Village. Its inhabitants have been guarding the world against monsters coming from the portal for centuries, but at the moment of our arrival the settlement seems completely deserted. So it falls on us to save the villagers and other heroes captured by the all-knowing (though not necessarily wise) Peelzebub.
Mechanics
Fifth installment of the Holy Potatoes! uses the achievements of the series. So we have a randomly generated world (shown in the isometric view), and our task is to rebuild the ruined Village. For this purpose, we are looking for its inhabitants, as well as heroes guarded by monsters, which we defeat in real-time clashes. The saved potatoes will allow us to develop the Village, thus opening up new possibilities. The game was maintained in a light, slightly parodying style for which the Holy Potatoes cycle is famous.
In the tradition of the series, Holy Potatoes! I'm A Hero?! offers an extensive crafting system. The game allows you to create hundreds of unique weapons, which we can put together in unique combinations. In addition, there are recipes for delicious (and useful) food and various items of equipment. However, before we can access them, we need to find the right schemes scattered around the game world.
Game modes
Just like the previous parts of the series, Holy Potatoes! I'm A Hero?! is a single player game. The authors did not foresee either a multiplayer mode or playing together with friends.
Technical aspects
Holy Potatoes! I'm A Hero?! keeps up with the tradition of the series also in terms of audiovisual setting. Simple but charming two-dimensional cartoon-style graphics are complemented by relaxing music.
