AND

Hiversaires, released on AND and iOS, is a first-person adventure game. The production was developed by an artist named Devine Lu Linvega. He has developed every element of the project, from the plot and puzzles to the graphics and soundtrack.

Mechanics

Hiversaires is an unusual adventure because it is practically devoid of text. Instead, the player is thrown into a bizarre, abandoned world full of mysterious machines and must find a way to get out of this place. Achieving a goal requires a lot of exploration and solving many puzzles. Puzzles are truly difficult and it's better to keep a notepad to write tips down. At the same time, all these challenges are very logical and, once we discover the solution, seem almost obvious. Despite the lack of traditional narration, however, the production is not devoid of plot. The player simply has to discover it by analyzing the environment and drawing their own conclusions.

The game is about exploring the location and solving puzzles. We see the world from a first-person perspective. The author focused on a jumping system of movement. He also didn't offer the option to look around freely and instead, during the whole adventure, we only switch between static screens.

Puzzles are very difficult, but at the same time, they are all logical. Most of them require us to manipulate various machines. By experimenting with switches and analyzing symbols found in the world, we can deduce the purpose and operation of the devices and use this knowledge to find a solution.

Technical aspects

Hiversaires offers high quality audiovisuals. The virtual world is mostly black-and-white, yet it can make a big impression with an attractive graphic style, and the gameplay is accompanied by atmospheric music. Despite the limited information given to the player, the game can effectively create an interesting atmosphere.
