Hexplore PC

Hexplore is an adventure and arcade game with role-plying elements, which was developed by Heliovision Productions. The action takes us to the year 1000 AD to a world in which magic and everyday life are interwoven with each other, and the greatest danger is the repulsive monsters. We play the role of a young adventurer - McBride, whose task is to save imprisoned comrades in arms and to thwart the plans of wizard Garkham, who at all costs wants to get the mythical Book of Hexplore (including the exact location of the Biblical Paradise).

After completing the team (archer, warrior, mage) we can set off on a journey through 10 vast lands. On our way we will meet a large number of opponents, but also several NPCs, with whom we can conduct short conversations in order to obtain useful information for us. We start the fight with the selection of appropriate armament and, optionally, the selection of the strongest enemy, and then we wait for our charges to resolve the duel to their advantage. Each win means an increase in the experience of one of the team members. We collect them in the form of stars appearing in the place of the defeated creature. It is also possible to resurrect the fallen hero.

Graphics look uneven. On the one hand, an excellent intro, film interludes and detailed portraits of the protagonists, on the other hand, the so-called pixelosis. Moving around the map makes it easier for us to rotate the board (several types: deserts, forests, castle interiors, etc.) by full 360 degrees and "zoom". (Voxel Rendering). The musical setting fulfils its purpose, treating us with a portion of gothic sounds and a gamma of sounds of nature.
