The fourth action RPG game from the Hellgate series started in 2007. Hellgate: Redemption is being made using Unreal Engine 5 and it should take a lot of inspirations from the original which combined RPG with MMO, and also in a way started the looter shooter subgenre.
Hellgate: Redemption Description
Hellgate: Redemption is the fourth entry in the Hellgate series, launched in 2007. The game is the result of a collaboration between HanbitSoft, which has been operating since 2008 and is in charge of the brand, and the Lunacy Games studio, founded by Bill Roper - the main producer of the first project under this banner, namely the action RPG with MMO elements titled Hellgate: London.
Official information about Hellgate: Redemption is currently very scarce, but the creators declare that the game will draw heavily from the original's legacy. We can expect that it will take us again to the post-apocalyptic Earth of the near future, destroyed as a result of a deadly war between humans and demons.
The gameplay should combine RPG with elements typical of shooters (Hellgate: London is sometimes considered a precursor of the looter shooter subgenre), although it is not yet clear whether we will again have a choice between first-person (FPP) and third-person perspectives ( TPP). The game is based on Unreal Engine 5 technology and also uses servers based on the so-called "cloud".
