Hearthstone: Voyage to the Sunken City is a puzzle card game, which is another expansion to Hearthstone released in 2014. It was developed by Blizzard Entertainment. The game introduces a new set of cards and game mechanics that enhance the gameplay.

Plot

As in previous additions, the story here is mainly the background for the game itself. This time the action takes us to the underwater, ancient city of Zin-Azshari. The crew of Leviathan sets off in search of the mentioned place, admiring the magical world of the ocean during the voyage. However, the picturesque underwater lands hide many dangers. The group sometimes encounters terrifying colossal creatures on their way, and in the city itself they encounter the Nagi - inhabitants of Zin-Azshari, who do not look kindly on the unexpected intruders.

Game mechanics

Like previous big expansions to the game, Hearthstone: Voyage to the Sunken City follows tradition by introducing 135 new collectible cards to the game. A new type of a minion introduced in the expansion is the spell-focused Naga. When it is in a player's hand, it often grants them bonuses for using one or more spells. Another type of minions are colossal monsters, which do not fit on a single card due to their size. The creatures, with the keyword "Colossal," have extra limbs, placed on other cards, that interact with the body to amplify its strength. They are summoned whenever this type of bias appears on the board, even if not played from hand.

Another interesting option introduced are cards with the keyword "Dredge", allowing the player to look at three cards from the bottom of his own deck and select one from them to be moved to the top of the deck. For better effect, the player can combine a card of this type with one of the new Asharan cards, which send powerful "Sunken" cards to the bottom of the deck. "Dredge" allows the player to bring out whatever is most needed at the time, whether it's sunken treasure, a new legendary character, or a powerful spell.
