Hearthstone: Festival of Legends is the twenty-third expansion to the free-to-play collectible card game Hearthstone. This time Blizzard Entertainment took the players on a magical adventure featuring the greatest stars of Azeroth.
Plot
Tauren E.T.C., the most iconic artist of the Warcraft universe, is organizing a massive music festival. Musicians specializing in many different genres, such as pop, metal and symphonic, are arriving to the Thousand Needles, trying to prove their musical superiority to all of Azeroth - even if doing so requires smashing a guitar over someone's skull.
Mechanics
Hearthstone: Festival of Legends introduces 145 new music-themed cards. Each of the 11 classes acquired cards representing the genre most fitting the class, including legendary musicians, their greatest hits and deathrattle instruments.
Some heroes also gained access to soloists who can activate their battlecries with no other minions on stage (specifically, on our side of the field). Others can cast harmonic spells, which switch between harmony and dissonance every turn while in hand, reversing the values of their effects.
Festival of Legends also adds two new keywords, though only one fits the musical vibe of the expansion. Finale cards have additional effects if played by spending all remaining mana. Overheal, meanwhile, is exclusive to the Priest class and rewards the player for healing minions above their maximum health value. The developers have also used the opportunity to modify already existing Priest cards and change his playstyle a bit.
