Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince Description
Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince for PC, X360 and etc. is an action game based on the novel written by the British writer J.K. Rowling. When working on the game, the developers have also cooperated with the creators of the movie with the same title as both the game and the book.
Plot
The action of the game is set at Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry. After Cornelius Fudge has seen Voldemort with his own eyes, the Ministry of Magic stopped doubting his return. As one can easily guess, the only one able to kill the evil sorcerer is Harry Potter. In order to do this, the young wizard, together with Dumbledore, persuade Horace Slughorn to return to Hogwarts to retake his post as the Potions Master. As such, he helps Harry to learn about the past of his opponent (Tom Marvolo Riddle) and better prepare himself for the war to come. At the same time, as young wizards are teenagers, their emotional relationships become even more complicated.
Mechanics
In Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince for PC, X360 and etc., players can participate in wizard duels. Each contestant can use a number of spells known from the books, including Expeliliarmus (a disarming spell) and Protego (a shielding spell). Duels can be observed from the third-person perspective, and both contestants have five life bars.
After a long absence, the Quidditch matches return to the series. Player gets to participate in them as one of the seekers with the task to catch the Golden Snitch. The point is to direct the controlled character toward indicated checkpoints and collecting stars to increase the broom’s speed.
The potions classes have been developed, as Harry uses the Half-Blood Prince’s handbook. Players are tasked with brewing the potions as fast as possible using the instructions from the book, such as warming the kettle, mixing the potion, and adding another magical ingredient.
