Harmony: The Fall of Reverie is a narrative adventure game, in which the player must maintain the safety of two interconnected worlds. It was developed by Don't Nod, a studio responsible for games such as the first two installments of Life is Strange, Twin Mirror, Tell Me Why and Vampyr.

Plot

Harmony: The Fall of Reverie takes place in the near future. The game's protagonist is Polly, returning to her native Mediterranean town after spending several years abroad. While trying to find her missing mother, she learns about the plans of the MK megacorp who are trying to control the city's population, greatly endangering its residents. All is not lost, however, as Polly discovers she has a supernatural gift.

She's able to access Reverie, a divine realm of sorts, inhabited by personifications of human aspirations: Glory, Bliss, Power, Chaos, Bond and Truth. While there, Polly becomes Harmony, a being able to choose the Aspiration to lead Reverie. Since both these worlds are interconnected, her choice affects her own world as well, changing where it heads.

The story of Polly and both these worlds, her choices and whether she succeeds in establishing balance between these two worlds is up to us, our actions and our decisions.

Mechanics

In Harmony: The Fall of Reverie, we play as Polly, getting to know the inhabitants of her Mediterranean town and their problems. In Reverie, in form of Harmony, she gets to know all the available Aspirations and establishes relationships with them; they differ in terms of personalities, goals and opinions on how to improve the world.

Choices are frequent, affecting the course of the story, the fate of both worlds and the ending. They're made a bit easier thanks to Polly's gift to see the future; by using the Augural, a game board representing her foresight, she can see the consequences of her actions before making her choice. Establishing relationships with the Aspirations also grants special crystals she can use to unlock new paths of fate.

Technical aspects

The visuals of Harmony: The Fall of Reverie are colorful and cartoonish. The game's soundtrack was composed by Lena Raine.
