Harley Davidson: Road Trip is a proposal from Destineer's development team for Nintendo Wii users who dream of a motorcycle lifestyle. The title was created in cooperation with Harley-Davidson Motorcycles manufacturer.
The game offers a total of 5 fun modes. In the main campaign, the player plays the role of HOG Magazine correspondent (the official journal of Harley-Davidson Owners Group members) and travels the United States, taking on a variety of motorcycle challenges. Other gameplay variants allow for free ride and time trial.
A total of seven licensed models of Harley-Davidson motorcycle - Rocker C, Nightster, Iron 883, Fat Bob, Cross Bones, XR 1200 - are at the player's disposal. Each of the machines differs in appearance and technical parameters. Additionally, there is a possibility of tuning them based on 70 mechanical parts and various painting patterns.
In-game control uses the technical capabilities of Wii Remote and Nunchuck. The player can use controllers like the steering wheel on a motorcycle, operating the gas lever and leaning around corners. However, the driving model used has an arcade character, which, combined with the lack of a system of destruction, is a clear bow to arcade races.
Visually, Harley Davidson: Road Trip presents a level that is far from contemporary video game standards. The character and motorcycle models and the surroundings of the routes are poor in detail. The sound layer is distinguished by the faithfully rendered sound of H-D V-Twin harley engines.
