Happy Cooking is a game that combines elements of strategy and a logic game created exclusively for Nintendo DS. This is a Ubisoft’s response to Cooking Mama released in 2006 by Taito company. The game is designed mainly for young players, but older ones can have much fun with it as well.

You play as a young girl who tries her skills at cooking. Her job is to prepare dishes of varying complexity (including confectionery). As her knowledge of cuisine grows, she gets to know recipes for 50 dishes from all over the world (e.g. Japanese, Greek, and Mexican).

The protagonist is not an expert cook at the very start. In order to improve her skills, she has to examine all the steps required to prepare a particular dish. The player learns the arts of cooking as well as related actions using simple and intuitive controls with the console’s touchscreen and stylus. Stirring, cutting or frying may be challenging at the very start, but can be learned.
