A free production from an independent Belgian developer, Thomas Kole, who decided to combine two of his favorite games: the famous shooter Half-Life 2 and the psychedelic shooter Hotline Miami. In the resulting title, Half-Life Miami, we assume the role of a physicist, Gordon Freeman, and are taken to the locations known from the legendary production by Valve where we decimate enemies with the iconic Gravity Gun.

Half-Line Miami is an interesting independent production for PC by a Belgian developer, Thomas Kole, who decided to combine two of his favorite games: the famous shooter Half-Life 2 by Valve with the psychedelic Hotline Miami developed by Dennaton Games. The title is available free of charge on its official website.

Mechanics

While playing, we assume the role of a physicists named Gordon Freeman and are taken to the locations known from the second installment of the Half-Life series where we have enemies to defeat. We fight them with the cult Gravity Gun, which is a device that can manipulate gravity. Its use boils down to pull objects (e.g. suitcases or containers) and then launching them at the enemy. The gameplay of Half-Line Miami, despite borrowing the aforementioned elements from Half-Life 2, bears a stronger resemble to Hotline Miami. First and foremost, the camera is placed above the protagonist’s head. The visual style also brings the Dennaton Games’ production to mind. The gameplay mechanics are based on rules that are similar to that from the abovementioned game about the adventures of a masked killer.
