Planetbase

Habitat is a sandbox strategy game in which we face the responsible task of saving humanity by building an efficient space base. In this process we use a whole mass of seemingly useless cosmic rubbish, which thanks to an advanced crafting system can become a valuable material for us. The game was created in 2011 in Seattle by four experienced developers, an independent 4gency studio.

The action of the game takes place in the distant future, when, in the face of the fall of the Earth, mankind began to search for a new home in space inhabited by various, dangerous races of space. The player's role will be to build a huge space base that can provide shelter for millions of former citizens of our planet. During the game, however, we will be responsible not only for efficient management of the database and taking care of its inhabitants, but also its protection against enemies lurking in the vastness of space. As we lead a team of engineers, we will often face an extremely difficult choice in order to make the best use of our limited resources.

Unlike the typical strategy game model of sourcing raw materials, in Habitat the expansion of the base and our military force is completely subordinated to the crafting system. During many centuries of space exploration, a huge amount of cosmic scrap came into the interstellar space, which, drifting chaotically, only waits to find a new application for it. We will be able to combine all these elements in different ways, using new weapons and subsequent modules of our drifting fortress for the production of new weapons. As the action unfolds, we'll face stronger and stronger opponents as we fight epic duels in a zero-gravitational environment. We will also learn more powerful technologies, such as kinetic weapons, which will allow us to build a stable and safe shelter for people among the stars.

The creators have prepared several fun variants for the players. In addition to the dynamic fictional campaign, there are free-exploration modes, and modes focusing on creative construction and pure combat. From the technical point of view, the game presents a high level of workmanship thanks to the use of the popular multiplatform Unity engine.
