GT Racing 2: The Real Car Experience, released on PC, AND, etc., is a continuation of the mobile racing game from 2010, which won the hearts of gamers with its realism and good graphics. The series was developed by a French company Gameloft, for many years leading the segment of mobile games. Contrary to the full-priced original, the second part is distributed in a popular free-to-play model, used, among others, in such racing games as Real Racing 3.
Mechanics
GT Racing 2: The Real Car Experience offers 13 different tracks, inspired by places such as the Côte d'Azur, Montreal, Lake Como or Laguna Seca. Players have access to an impressive number of 67 licensed cars from 30 different brands, such as Mercedes-Benz, Ferrari, Dodge, Nissan, Audi and Ford. The set is complemented by such unique models as Le Mans class cars or concept cars. In order to keep pace with our rivals, we have to constantly buy new machines, install modifications and employ better and better mechanics. Additionally, before each race, we can invest in special boosters that will improve such parameters as maximum speed, acceleration, brakes and grip, or multiply the number of points and credits.
Game modes
According to its subtitle, GT Racing 2: The Real Car Experience aspires to be a real mobile simulator, taking inspirations from such cult titles as Forza Motorsport. In the Career mode, we have seven classes waiting for us, to which we gain access gradually as we win the next races. In order to diversify the fun, apart from the classic races, the creators have also included a few other game modes. In the time trial, we have to complete one lap as fast as possible. In the duel mode, we participate in one-on-one races. Elimination is a race in which, after each lap, the last driver is eliminated from the race. In Overtake mode we have to overtake as many rivals as possible, and in King of the Hill the winner is the driver who has been in the lead for as long as possible during the race. According to the authors' assurances, players will face a total of more than 1400 different challenges.
Technical aspects
One of the strongest points of GT Racing 2: The Real Car Experience are the graphics, which on the most powerful devices don't differ significantly from full console titles. The car models have been made with great care and we have 4 cameras at our disposal - including the view from the inside of the vehicle. The driving model - by mobile standards - offers very good physics. In addition, for less-skilled drivers, it is also possible to switch on/off various options. GT Racing 2 offers the option to participate in network events, as well as a multiplayer mode. However, the pleasure of competing with friends costs quite a lot of credits.
