gShift is a debut project of the Deadweight Studios development team. Production combines elements of arcade platforming with tasks requiring logical thinking skills.
The action of the game takes place in a fantastic world, the peace of which is destroyed as a result of a terrible accident. Gravitational experiments in GravTech's laboratory got out of control and the planet's surface disintegrated into pieces that drift randomly in space. Worse still, the main scientist is trapped. The only hope to restore order is his son Guster.
Unlike typical platformers, the main character does not jump over obstacles, but tries to overcome them by manipulating the laws of physics, more precisely by turning the boards 90 degrees (or multiples). The game has been designed in such a way that overcoming levels requires good spatial orientation and logical thinking skills.
The creators prepared a total of 99 boards in 10 thematically different lands. The instructor has to face eight types of obstacles, but as the game progresses, the scale of difficulty increases. It should take the average player about 15 hours to complete the game.
gShift is characterized by poor (as for modern standards) visual setting combining 3D graphics with the side view of the camera characteristic for 2D platformers. The advantages of the game include a nice soundtrack, which makes overcoming subsequent boards more pleasant.
