Grotesque is a cRPG game, which in a fascinating way combines the traditional, vast fantasy world with elements of the adventure game a'la Monkey Island or Discworld, and the whole was successfully tinted with a hanging humour. The program makes an ambitious attempt to break out of the canons and reach players bored and discouraged by the substantive and intellectual level, served to us in contemporary productions.

The basic factor distinguishing Grotesque from other computer role-playing games is the title look at the genre through the prism of a curved mirror. The script contains dozens of references, references and references to the most popular fantasy worlds and classic RPG titles - such positions as The Lord of the Rings, Gothic, World of Warcraft, Diablo or Baldur's Gate were disregarded. Many times we come to visit areas with strangely familiar names or meet non-knowledgeable characters. A very important element of Grotesque is getting to know the world and personalities of the characters in the game as well as solving a large number of puzzles that require the player to engage additional hosts of grey cells. Grotesque is not as shallow as an Action-RPG puddle - it's a return to its roots, to the times when the role-playing game was much closer to adventures than to murderously dynamic and spectacular action games. Although the grotesque gives an opportunity to ignore the riddles and limit oneself only to quartering successive orc substitutes, the lion's share of the product's potential is wasted as a result. The authors have devoted a lot of time to maximize the coloration and refinement of the NPCs in the game - each character is someone unique and worth our attention.

In addition to laughing at and refreshing the genre, Grotesque's plot is designed to act as a relaxing and entertaining gamer for almost 40 hours. This time the control uses classic schemes - the character is manipulated using WSAD keys, supporting itself with mouse buttons, if necessary. We see many innovative solutions in the combat system - due to its specific construction, it allows tactically talented players to spread their wings, mainly thanks to a large number of special manoeuvres and battle games. Conservatives should also feel satisfied - battles related to the plot have been specially prepared and provide an unforgettable experience. Innovations have also not bypassed the monsters wandering through the grotesque world - some do not want to throw themselves into our throats, and some in special cases will offer the player their help in skirmishes, often leaning the scales of victory on our site.

In many important respects, the focus was on proven solutions. As in other cRPG games, we decide for ourselves what profession we will teach the characters in the game (from Kelner and Farmer to the City Guard and the Metallic Magician), who we will help to cut rats out of the basement and how we will gain fame and gold. If at any time in the game we come to the conclusion that we are foolish and we do not know what to do next, a tireless diary will be of help, regularly registering all commitments and achievements. As it happens in many German productions, Grotesque also features threads of male and female contacts, at the same time giving the player freedom of choice - it is up to us whether we remain faithful to one partner (or to be politically correct: one partner), or whether we will take care of professional heartbreaking. Of course, if we don't want to conquer love, we can show no interest in the opposite sex at all and don't get involved in closer acquaintance with virtual women - after all, nothing by force.
