Grimm: Dark Legacy is based on the popular NBC television series and it was created by Artplant, the creators of Battlestar Galactica Online. Gameplay mechanics and style of the title are similar to the highly praised survival game Don’t Starve.

Grimm: Dark Legacy is a survival RPG game with advanced online features. The title is based on the popular NBC television series which was inspired by the stories of Grimm brothers. The title has official license from the Universal corporation and was released by in a free-to-play distribution model on PC. It was created by Norwegian studio Artplant, the creators of the well received Battlestart Galactica Online.

Plot

In the mentioned Grimm television series, the main protagonist was Nick Burkhardt – a policeman from Portland, who discovers that he is the descendant of an ancient group of hunters known as Grimm. Their task is to maintain the balance between regular humans and magic creatures living among them and called Wesens. The plot of the game takes place hundreds of years before the events shown in the television series. The player assumes the role of a novice Grimm who has little knowledge and unimpressive equipment. He gradually learns about the world in which he lives and becomes familiar with his role in it.
